1.6 Inter-connection between student and teacher (optional)

There are three ways for a student to connect with a teacher (or educational institution) to receive assignments.

 

Option A (most common)

Connection through a purchased textbook:

The student, after purchasing and activating a book in their account, clicks the + icon on the MY TEACHERS shelf. The user, then, selects the book they wish to connect through and enters the username of their teacher. Clicking OK sends the teacher an invitation to connect. The professor receives the invitation in their inbox inside the app. If they accept it, they can send assignments, and hide or display the solutions in the student’s book. For security reasons, the invitation is only sent from students to teachers.

Deletion of book interface: Breaking the book linkage is a two-way process.

The student can break the connection at any time by clicking on the iconon the cover of their book and selecting Delete Teacher.

The teacher can interrupt the interface in two (2) ways:

1. Enter Lesson Student Books (in the Students tab) Delete Book

2. Settings   My Account Manage Students Delete Student from the Available Students field

 

Option B

Connecting via key number:

The student -both with or without purchased books – clicks on the   icon on the MY TEACHERS shelf. There, they can enter the key number and username of the teacher or Administrator -if it is an institutional account. (The teacher can find their key number in Settings My Account). The interface is formed automatically. The teacher can now send assignments, and hide or display the solutions in the student’s book.

Deletion of key number book interface: Deletion of the key number interface is only available to the teacher through; Settings My Account  Manage Students Delete Student from the Available Students field

 

Option C

Creating an internal student account when purchasing seats on a subscription account:

If you are a teacher, director of an educational institution, or institutional account manager and have purchased a subscription account with e.g. 5 or 25 or more student seats, you can create your own internal student accounts. Tap Settings My account Create accounts

 

As long as there are available purchased “seats” in your account, internal students are automatically placed on them. Internal student and teacher accounts cannot be linked to other student or teacher accounts outside of your network (subscription account).

 

Students can only receive assignments from a teacher’s notes if they are placed on an empty seat regardless of the type of connection to their educator.

 

Subscription accounts start with 5 student seats annually. All interconnected students, if not already placed on a desk, appear in the lobby of your account.

The teacher can view that by tapping Settings My Account   Manage Students under the Available Students field.

 

Drag and drop students from the Available Students field to the Seats field and vice versa. The desk is not canceled when a student is placed in it. That is, if the desk is empty, another student can be placed in it. The available students outside of desks can be seen on the shelf My Connected Students (outside of desks).

NOTE: Placing students at desks is not mandatory when teaching with PAC purchased books.
