Do you have difficulty creating an interactive exercise because either you are lacking time or it is very complicated? Send it as a photo (from the physical book).

Create a “creative writing” exercise.

Upload a photo of the exercise to the Basic Content.

Double-click on the photo. In the new dialog box, click Advanced. In the Stylesheet Classes field, enter the term “forcanvas”.

Once you send the exercise as an assignment, students will receive it within a text editor. They can click the Canvas icon and write or draw over the photo you sent them. They can then click the Save to Cloud icon to save their work.

As a teacher, you can grade and comment on the student’s work just as you grade the other assignments. Enter the lesson and then click the icon of the book the exercise was selected from. Open the blue assignment category. Find the student’s assignment, select it, and click OK. Then click How the assignment was solved and comment by clicking on the photo that appears outside the text editor.
